Anti-Money Laundering Policy

As a financial service provider, we are required by law to find out information about you and the transactions you are performing with us. This is so that we can meet the government anti money laundering & countering financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) law.

What is money laundering and financing of terrorism?

Money laundering is how criminals disguise the illegal origins of their money. Financers of terrorism use similar techniques to money launderers to avoid detection by authorities and to protect the identity of those providing and receiving the funds.

Providing proof of identification and your home address

This means that for most transactions we will need you to provide us with either your passport or your driver’s license with your eftpos/credit card. We will also need you to provide us with a document showing your home street address. This can be a bank statement, power or phone bill or government letter, with your name and street address on it.

Providing other information and documents

We may also ask you for further information about why you are performing the transaction and where your funds have come from. It may mean that we ask for evidence of where your funds have come from and the purpose of the transaction.

We also have the right to decline the transaction if we are not able to validate these things or if we feel that you could be a victim of a scam.
